We are going to WDW with our granddaughters in April. We have decided on MK, Epcot, and AK. Any thoughts / suggestions on which one to go to first / save for last? We are not going to do park hopper. We will have our 3 granddaughters ages 7, 4, 2. They are going to love all the parks so trying to decide order that we visit.
The HARDEST. QUESTION. EVER.
Even Rapunzel thinks it’s the HARDEST. QUESTION. EVER. – Photo by Cliff Wang
Oh, my. This might be the HARDEST. QUESTION. EVER! I’m serious. I’m of two minds on this one…
Two minds? Am I one of them?
No Pigment. Go back to sleep. This has nothing to do with you!
That’s right. Nothing. Now go away and leave me alone, I’m working.
That’ll be the day.
Nighty, night, Pigment.
Now where was I, oh, yeah. Two minds about which park to visit on what day.
Start or end with Magic Kingdom
Every good trip starts at Cinderella Castle – Photo by Judd Helms
First, let’s talk about the Magic Kingdom. This is what I’m of two minds about. One side of me says you should always start your trip at the Magic Kingdom. We typically do.
The Magic Kingdom is the BEST of the Disney Parks. It has the most attractions. It has the most shows. It has the most things to do for kids. It’s special. Truly special. There is nothing better than the first look down Main Street and seeing Cinderella Castle for the first time. Truly MAGICAL!
So you should start at the Magic Kingdom.
But then there’s the other side of me that says save the best for last. That you should end your trip in the Magic Kingdom. We do that almost every trip. (Yes, we try to start and end at the Magic Kingdom.)
There is just nothing better than finishing up your trip watching Happily Ever After. It’s a special way to wrap up a MAGICAL vacation.
Más o Menos

As to the other parks it more or less (más o menos) doesn’t matter too much. They are pretty much interchangeable.
I’d go over to TouringPlans and see which day had the least crowds at each park and try that.
Also, check the hours. If there are early (morning) Extra Magic Hours at one of the parks on the day you want to visit I’d avoid that park.
Dad’s Bottom Line
The bottom line is there is no wrong answer here. YOU ARE AT DISNEY WORLD! Do the Magic Kingdom first or last and the others based on crowds. You can’t go wrong.
OK, maybe it wasn’t the HARDEST question, but maybe it was. This two minds thing is kinda creepy.
