"Hi Dad, My husband and I are bringing our kids to WDW for the first time. The tickets we have is 2 day hopper plus option and we are allowed one water park. Our kids are 14, 11 and 9. Which water park do you think they can enjoy more? the Blizzard beach or Typhoon lagoon? Thanks for your tips.

Adventure or Laid Back

Maame,

The Disney Water Parks are both incredible experiences. They are probably the best themed water parks in the world. Both are just AMAZING.

That being said there is a big difference between the two. Blizzard Beach is bright, and full of fast moving adventure. Even the "lazy river" at Blizzard Beach moves fast. It has the fastest water slide at Disney World. The theme is all about racing and going fast.

Typhoon Lagoon on the other hand is laid back. The "lazy river" is just that, a "lazy river". It meanders gently through the park. The water slides are cool, but a little slower that Blizzard Beach. You can even surf at the wave pool (at certain times). You can't get more laid back than that.

Blizzard Beach is bright and white. Typhoon Lagoon is darker with lots of greens and vegetation.

Which suits your family more

So, which one sounds like more fun to you? Are the kids adventurous and would like faster water slides? Or are they more laid back and would like a less challenging environment?

Does bright sunshine bother them? It does me. My eyes are sensitive to light. Blizzard Beach gives me a headache.

Dad's Bottom Line

It boils down to which park is more suited to your kids. The more adventurous ones will prefer Blizzard Beach. The more laid back will enjoy Typhoon Lagoon.

Hope that helps.
