This question comes from Debbie in Georgia: Dad, in your opinion, which is better, Hoop Dee Doo or Whispering Canyon? We have a large group of 7 going, 4 adults and 3 9-year-olds. Yes, triplets. We did the Mickey's Backyard BBQ. It was okay, but none of us felt it was really worth the price. The kids had fun. We are all intrigued by both places. What would be better for 3 active kids?

Well, Debbie, this one is pretty easy. Whispering Canyon Cafe, I love it. It's a beautiful place to eat. Yes, the servers do get into the spirit and kind of play with you. Ask for ketchup, by the way. That can be fun.
Yes, the veggies are even good at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue
But... it's just not the same as the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. The Hoop Dee Doo Revue, oh, singing and dancing, jokes, riddles. It's just a great show. Haven't been to Mickey's Backyard BBQ so I don't know how it compares, but I love going to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue.
We went there last year in December with the family, and we just had a great time. Yes, it was 6 adults, but you could look around the room and see kids. The first time I went I was able sit with a little girl about 4 years old, and she just had a ball with the show.
It's very interactive, especially at the end when they bring out the washboards that you get to play. The kids will, I'll say will love it. The kids should love; most kids do. It's fun, there's a lot to do, a lot going on.
Frankly, I love the food at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. The chicken, the ribs. Even the salad. I don't eat salad; well, I do eat salad but only when I have to, but I just love that salad. The cornbread. It's just all ... Not putting down the Whispering Canyon Cafe. I enjoy the Whispering Canyon Cafe, but I'm a big fan of the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. That's for me, for our family, I think it's one of the best things that Disney does. I have not heard about any kids, even kids, that didn't enjoy the show.
Dad's Bottom Line
The bottom line is, if it were me choosing, I'd choose the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, no questions. It's like, boom versus boom. Whispering Canyon Cafe, great place to eat. We don't go there all the time, but it's one of the places we like to go. Whispering Canyon Cafe is good, Hoop Dee Doo Revue, out of this world. I hope that helps. Have a great day. Thanks.
