Will All of the Christmas Decorations be Up in Time for my Trip?
I'm going to be at Disney world on the 6th of December. Will the decorations be complete by then?
Dad’s I Don’t Want to be a Scrooge Answer
Howdy! Thanks so much for visiting the site – I’ve got an answer for you but you’re probably not going to like it. Or maybe you will. I don’t want to be a Scrooge, so let’s get the bad news out of the way first.

It’s very unlikely that the decorations will be complete on December 6. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the Christmas decorations will be 99.9% complete – the only thing missing will be the Christmas Tree at Magic Kingdom. That’s because the taping of the Christmas Day Parade
happens over the first weekend in December. It’ll probably go up on December 7 or 8.
So depending on which park you visit on December 6, you might not notice anything is missing! If you do visit the Magic Kingdom that day, be advised that certain areas may be closed off for filming. And if you’re there for more than one day, head to the Magic Kingdom later in your trip to see the tree in place!
Don’t worry – you’re not alone. I’ve had this question before
, in fact I’ve heard it many times
and I’ll hear it again in the future. It’s fun to see the decorations go up over November, but by the time December hits, it’s really time for everything to be in place!

Looking on the bright side, Christmas at WDW
is one of the very best times to visit in Dad’s humble opinion. The magic is amplified 1000% with beautiful decorations, seasonal music and entertainment, festive treats, and pretty low crowds in early December
Boy oh boy, Dad sure does love Christmas at WDW!
Dad's Bottom Line
Sorry to be a Scrooge, but 99.9% of the decorations being up is a pretty good number to work with – I hope you get to see and enjoy all of the Christmas spirit in the parks on your trip! Merry Christmas!
