Hi! Do you think that there will be any chance of any discounts or deals during the summer this month? I am going at the end of June and will be there the first week of July. Possibly resort discounts, kids stay and play or free dining?

Dad’s Waiting Game Answer
Walt Disney World offers discounts at different times every year. They are not available each and every day. It’s important to watch for deals while planning your upcoming trip, and while it can be nerve wracking to play the waiting game when you’re booking your trip, there’s not much else you can do! Patience is a virtue that Disney-lovers know well!
Typically, Walt Disney World will announce their summer discounts in the late spring. I doubt they will release these offers this month (March), but they will probably come to surface in early-mid May since the current promotions release go until mid June. I can’t guarantee that there will be discounts offered during your trip, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be!
You’re looking at going at one of the busiest times of the year – it’s the end of school, the beginning of summer, and the 4th of July! The parks are packed at this time of year, so Disney doesn’t need to do much to sell packages. If they do offer a discount at this time, it will be minor such as a room-only discount. Free Dining is dead (and even if it’s still hanging on by a thread, it’s something they will only pull out during off-season) and Kids Play and Stay Free hasn’t been offered in years.
While Dad can’t tell you exactly when discounts will be released, what dates they’ll be valid for, or what the specifics will be, there is a way to get the best of both worlds – booking your trip and getting a discount (if applicable). If you book your trip now, and a discount is later revealed, you can call Disney and request that the promotion be applied to your booking. That’s the hard way. because you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for discounts to come up then call Disney and beg them to change your reservation to the new discount. (Yes, they are happy to help.)
OR, you can do it the easy way. Sit back, relax and let the pros handle it. ”There’s no case too big, no case too small, when you need help just call ch-ch-ch-Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers!” Sorry, Dad just got caught up in some early 90’s Disney nostalgia from when the Princess and the Man-Child were small – the theme song is just so catchy!
You can’t call Chip and Dale, but the premise still applies – get some help! A Disney travel agent like Destinations to Travel will keep track of your booking and make sure that any new discounts are brought to your attention and applied to your booking, and you won’t need to lift a finger.
Dad’s Bottom Line
Tracey, no one likes playing the waiting game, but it’s what you’ll have to do. I’d go ahead and book your trip without relying on discounts, and if there’s one that you can apply at a later date, it will be a bonus!
